Dr. Naveen Sharma
Biography
Dr Sharma is a qualified medical practitioner, fully registered with the General Medical Council, and his name has been included on the Specialist Register since 2010. He holds a CCT in General Adult Psychiatry with a subspecialty endorsement in Addiction Psychiatry. Dr Sharma is a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. He is approved under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act (MHA; 1983, as amended 2007) as having special experience in the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorder. He is in good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists, undertaking Continuing Professional Development. He completed most of his psychiatric training at South London & Maudsley and Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust under Guys, Kings & St Thomas/South Thames Training Scheme. He has gained experience in different settings including inpatient units, community teams, liaison services, and psychiatric intensive care units. He has expertise in assessing and treating a range of mental health conditions including psychosis, schizophrenia, first episode psychosis, bipolar affective disorder, depression, PTSD, OCD, anxiety disorders, personality disorders and perinatal mental health disorders. He has a special interest in neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly adult ADHD. He is currently working as a Consultant Psychiatrist in an acute female inpatient unit and male Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit in South London & Maudsley NHS FT.
He also has a special interest in management and holds an MBA from London Business School. He has worked in a start-up and as a management consultant at a top-tier consulting firm advising senior management across many blue-chip companies on their strategic, operational, and commercial challenges. So, he has first-hand experience of workplace practices and stresses faced by executives and managers.
